In accordance with the preparation timeline for the 19th Balkan Countries CHODs Conference, the 1st and 2nd Meetings of the Coordination Group were successfully conducted.

The 1st Coordination Group Meeting was held in Athens from 17 to 19 November 2025, while the 2nd Coordination Group Meeting took place in Athens from 25 to 27 February 2026.

The meetings were chaired by representatives of the Host Nation (HN) and attended by delegates from the participating Balkan Countries CHODs Initiative signatory nations. During the meetings, participants reviewed the progress of preparations for the Conference and discussed organizational, administrative and program-related matters.

Through constructive and productive discussions, the members of the Coordination Group examined the proposals submitted by the respective Sub-Working Groups and reached consensus on key issues related to the planning and conduct of the 19th Balkan Countries CHODs Conference.

The meetings concluded with the agreement on further actions and tasks to be completed prior to the Conference, while the results and recommendations of the Coordination Group will be presented to the Chiefs of Defence during the Conference proceedings.

The next Coordination Group Meeting is scheduled to take place in Thessaloniki from 6 to 8 May 2026.
